THE CELLAR
Monteci Winery is a family-run company that belongs to Righetti family. Now in its fifth generation, it is located in the heart of Valpolicella region and it is the emblem of how technological innovation and attention to tradition can live in perfect harmony. The passion and attention to details characterize the daily work both in the vineyard and in the cellar to offer its customers wines of excellent quality and an excellent hospitality. The agricultural patrimony takes in about 200 hectares of vines, situated in some of the best areas of Veneto region, such as Valpolicella Classica, Lugana and Bardolino.
Our philosophy is based on two fundamental principles: the first being the ongoing search for grapes of excellent quality, starting from the outstanding management of the vines and the vineyard and from the meticulous selecting of the fruits from the plant, i.e. a low yield per vine allows for a better and greater quality and aromatic quality of the grape; the second being the managing of the wine cellar itself, where traditional methods are integrated with the latest wine- making techniques. Along with this perfect union we add our immense passion, our professionalism and the vast experience of those who work with us and who believe in the authenticity of their profession.
Moreover, Righetti family firmly believes in environmental sustainability and respect for the environment. Starting with the 2018 harvest, we are proud to have one of the largest organic certified vineyards in Valpolicella region.
Monteci completely embraces the ideals of environmental sustainability, not only in our vineyards but also in our winery: to maintain our vines healthy, we use fertilizing techniques that respect the delicate balance of this environment, like green manure. By using all these tricks all our vineyards develop a natural ecosystem able to adjust itself. Moreover, the drying rooms and the winery are powered by a photovoltaic system, which gives energy in an eco-friendly and sustainable way.
